YOU CAN COUNT ON CAULIFLOWER
It’s that time of the year when the markets bloom up with the spongy, flowering vegetable called cauliflower. Though it belongs to the cruciferous family, cauliflower lacks the green chlorophyll found in the other vegetables like in broccoli, cabbage and kale from the same family. Several researches on the flowery vegetable have revealed that it has compounds to resist cancer and has the ability to eliminate cancer enzymes. But that’s not the only healing quality that the cauliflower exhibits.

Promotes liver detoxification
It contains glucosinolates and thiocyanates (including sulforaphane and isothiocyanate), which helps to increase the liver’s ability to neutralize potentially toxic substances that could lead to cancer if left unattended. The presence of enzymes like glutathione transferase, and quinine reductase also help in the detoxifying process, including the cells.
Prevents cancer
Various researches involving human, as well as animal show that cauliflower help in keeping off various kinds of cancers – lung, colon, breast, ovarian cancer, with the most recent being, bladder cancer. It was found that the average daily intake of cruciferous vegetables was quite low in those with bladder cancer than the healthier control groups.
Shield against rheumatoid arthritis
Cauliflower, which is rich in Vitamin C, is said to provide a shield against inflammatory polyarthritis, a form of rheumatoid arthritis affecting two or more joints.
